PORTSMOUTH—A moving company that started on a card table in an apartment in Dover has now expanded to the Eastern Seaboard. Mike Carlton, president of Calling All Cargo Moving & Storage has added two tractor-trailers to his fleet to help transport anything and everything from their Dover and Greenland facilities all the way to their brand-new branch in West Palm Beach, Fla. (a city that he now calls home.)
Carlton is proud of his company, and also very proud of his military background as a U.S. Marine—actively recruiting and hiring veterans to work for him whenever possible.
Community service is also very important to Carlton and co. They’ve got a heckofa history of transporting evergreens for the Dover chamber’s Festival of Trees many years running. Carlton also was entered into a community contest that required he dance a ballet with a former prima ballerina for Boston Ballet Company. (They won.)
Winning seems to be in the cards for Calling All Cargo. Their philosophy involves hustling, working hard, no smoking (no smoke breaks!) and giving back to the community.
A hearty congratulations to Calling All Cargo—our Small but Mighty Business of the Month! Thanks to First Seacoast Bank for sponsoring the award each month, and please—nominate a business for consideration! (Email Jennifer@portsmouthcollaborative.org.)
